People look for perfection, people want to make sure everything is so right that there are no mistakes in what we do. In my journey as a person as well as an artist i feel it is important to make mistakes. When I was training under my teacher Juliette Aristides, she said draw your lines with confidence even when they are wrong. There is no need to hesitate, because if we do not draw that first wrong line, how will i find the correct line.
If you have worked in any business, learnt a skill, you would have made a lot of mistakes before you got it right. As I was growing up, failing was considered as a taboo. Something, people should be ashamed off, why should I be ashamed of failure, it is good to fail, it is important to fail. These days in our education system, there are rules that you cannot fail a student upto class 9th, my thoughts are teach our children it is ok to fail.
You learn something new only when you fail, success generally has less to teach than failure does. More important skill is to be persistent. Write that wrong answer which comes to your mind, reason, ask why it is not the right answer.
My teaching philosphy is “MAKING MISTAKES IS IMPORTANT”. IF YOU ARE PERFECT, THEN YOU CANNOT GROW
